I have been passionate about sports from a young age. In 1998, at 18, I was honoured to win the World Junior Kayak Marathon Championships in South Africa. It was during this formative period that I developed a keen interest in sports injuries and began my journey towards a career in healthcare.
My ambition to become a physiotherapist inspired me to start my professional journey in personal training, where I gained a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics. This experience led me to specialise in rehabilitation, with a particular focus on head injury recovery. While training as a sports therapist, I also provided sports massage, further honing my practical skills.
I soon began working with local sports teams, developing both my clinical expertise and palpation skills. I discovered a natural rapport with younger patients, which encouraged me to pursue a role in paediatric rehabilitation within the NHS. Still intent on becoming a physiotherapist, I explored various degree courses and was introduced to osteopathy. I immediately connected with its core principle: that an individual's wellbeing relies on their bones, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues working together harmoniously.
Motivated by this holistic philosophy, I enrolled at the College of Osteopaths, where I expanded my knowledge and refined my skills. I am proud to have graduated in 2024 with a BOst Osteopathy (Hons) degree, and I am committed to supporting the health and recovery of my patients through evidence-based, compassionate care.
